North Carolina became the first (and so far only) state to restrict where transgender people can use public bathrooms and locker rooms, and gay rights advocates almost immediately filed a lawsuit challenging the law’s legality. Now the state is suing the government, and the government is suing the state. Basically, lawsuits all around. i believe all transgender people should have the right to use the bathroom they associate themselves as.

A study by the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended that students start class no earlier than 8:30 a.m. The group says insufficient sleep is “an important public health issue” impacting the students’ academic success. this is something i agree with tremendously. when children or teenagers have to wake up very early for school with not enough rest this tires their brain activity and function not allowing them to pay attention they way they would with a full nights of sleep, this causes them to either fall asleep in class or not be able to process the knowledge being taught to them.

the news reported that the bison can become the national mammal of the united states. this i found interesting because the symbolic animal of the united states for more than 200 years was the bald eagle. lawmakers state “called the bison — North America’s largest land animal — the embodiment of American strength and resilience and said it reflects the nation’s pioneer spirit.”

i was watching the news in the morning and they were saying that dogs don’t like to be hugged. if you notice your dogs ears go backwards when you hug them, they sense fear and uncomfort. this is something i thought was very interesting because i have a dog and i know many people that hug their dogs and we see it as affection, not knowing its not the same emotion for them.
